Parshwanath Jain Temple – Swetambar is the holy shrine of the Jain community in Kolkata. The temple is extremely beautiful and you are sure to admire and love the spiritual ambiance of the place. The Construction of the Temple

The temple was being constructed by Ray Badridas Bahadur in the year 1867. Each year you have innumerable visitors coming to the place. This is a 4 complex temple you can see. The prime shrine of the temple is dedicated to the tenth Jain avatar and he is known as Sri Sital Nath Ji. You have the four main temples and these are Sitalnath Ji Temple, Mahavir Swami Temple, Chandraprabhu Ji Temple and Dadawadi and Kushal Ji Maharaj Temple. This is the place where the footprint of the ain Acharya Jin Dutt Kushal Suri is being preserved and worshipped with all dedication. Once you go towards the south of the temple f Sri Sital Nath Ji, you are sure to find the shrine of Sri Chanda Prabhuji Dev. The same was built by Ganeshlal Kapoorchand Jahar and this happened in the year 1895.

The Celebration Zone of the Temple

You have the main Jain temple known as Paryushan and here celebration takes place during the Bhadra month. During the time the Jains practice ahimsa and they listen to all religious scriptures of worship. The day of the festival is known as Samvatsari. The deities of the temple are all decorated and made to look precious with all the decorative and expensive stones. Even precious metal is being used in the construction of the deities.

More about the Decoration

Throughout the temple you have the lavishly installed glass and mirrors. The ceilings look great with the chandeliers and when you look up you get amazed with the illumination. The floors of the temple are made with all marble and the floral design is just stupendous. The architecture is colossal and classic. The inside of the temple looks great with the works of the renowned painter Ganesh Muskare. The gateway of the temple is immensely attractive and it is great pleasure to be at the place.
